Hearing Aid Styles

Hearing aids can come in a variety of different styles to suit your specific needs and requirements. Our audiologist will discuss in detail the most suitable hearing aid based on your lifestyle and hearing requirements.

Behind-the-ear (BTE)

BTE hearing aids are designed so the main body of the aid can sit comfortably behind the ear.

The body is then connected to an ear mould via narrow tubing, which sits in the outer ear canal.

Receiver in canal (RIC)

Receiver In Canal hearing aids are suitable for a broad range of hearing losses. They’re simple to use and full of some the world’s most advanced hearing aid technology.

In the ear (ITE)

In The Ear hearing aids are a moulded aid made to fit your ear canal that combines power with a discreet design. Their larger size means that they are ideal for more severe levels of hearing loss, requiring more amplification than a smaller aid can provide.

In the canal (ITC)

In The Canal hearing aids are moulded to fit inside your ear canal, so they fit snugly and securely in your ear. Unlike some smaller in-canal hearing aids, they’re not too fiddly to put in and take out but remain discreetly tucked into your ear.

Completely in canal (CIC)

Completely In Canal hearing aids are small, custom-moulded aids that sit inside your ear canal. They hold some incredible technology, and they are ideal for those with moderate levels of hearing loss.

Invisible in the canal

Invisible In Canal hearing aids pack technology into a tiny shell. These hearing aids are designed to sit comfortably and invisibly in your ear canal, so no-one will even know it’s there! These hearing aids are suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss.
