This is my first blog post for my new business, Noble and Reading Hearcare. This has been a year in the making and a long held ambition to develop a local business helping people to access hearing services from the comfort of their own home.
I have been qualified since 2010 and set to work in a well known high street provider, offering both private and NHS services for a number of years. After a short time I was offered a partnership in the business which I accepted, working across three busy stores with a small team of clinicians at a time where the public were becoming more aware of the impact of hearing loss and there was an increasing demand for adult hearing services such as providing hearing assessments, hearing aids and wax removal.
After the birth of my first child, I sold my business and worked for an independent domiciliary provider, visiting patients in their homes. I loved that patients were more relaxed in their own environment and it allowed more time to do the things that make this job rewarding; time to build relationships, answer your concerns fully and the option to access a wider selection of products to help solve some of the issues people were having with their quality of hearing.
The pandemic highlighted that accessing health services when living in villages such as Lavendon and Turvey can be challenging - having to travel to the nearest city or town for multiple appointments can create additional stress, cost and inconvenience; something which I hope we can provide a practical solution to.
Traditionally, many providers tend to offer appointments between 9am and 5pm - however if you're an early bird who likes to get appointments out of the way so they can focus on the rest of their day or someone who can only be seen in the evening, I'm happy to be flexible wherever possible. Just ask if you have a time in mind and I'll see what I can do.
